AB Media Publishing, LLC
The ABC Family "Pretty Little Liars" spinoff series "Ravenswood" is set to begin production on it's first season and casting directors will be holding auditions in Los Angeles and New Orleans for series regulars, recurring roles, guest starring roles, and day players. Shooting will take place in New Orleans, Louisiana starting this coming August, 2013. The show's extras and stand-ins will all be hired throughout production in New Orleans. "Ravenswood" will premier on ABC Family in late October, 2013 after the "Pretty Little Liars" Halloween episode.
The "Pretty Little Liars" spinoff takes place in Ravenswood, a town near Liars' hometown of Rosewood PA, which has suffered under a deadly curse for generations. Five strangers find themselves connected by the fatal curse and are charged with investigating the town's mysterious and terrible history before it's too late for everyone. Hanna's significant other Caleb, will leave Rosewood and travel to the new town in the Halloween hour where he'll be joined by twins Abel and Olivia. Olivia's former best friend Tess, who is not involved with the curse, appears in the subsequent Ravenswood episodes that follow the series' Halloween installments.
Starring in "Ravenswood" is the talented and handsome actor/singer Tyler Blackburn playing the role of Caleb Rivers, a part that he played on "Pretty Little Liars". Canadian actress/dancer Merritt Patterson will star as Tess. Patterson is a rising star who is set to star alongside Josh Lucas in the 2014 feature film "Under the Apple Tree". Brett Dier and Elizabeth Whitson have been cast to play twins Abel and Olivia respectively. Nicole Gale Anderson will portray a foster child named Miranda. Anderson came into prominence playing Macy Misa on the Disney Channel series "Jonas". Britne Oldford has joined the cast as the inquisitive and determined Remy. Meg Foster will play the no-nonsense, stubborn Mrs. Grunwald.
The series is being executive produced by the same team as "Pretty Little Liars" - I. Marlene King, Oliver Goldstick, Joseph Dougherty, and Les Morgenstein. I. Marlene King directed the pilot episode, and Primetime Emmy award nominee Ron Lagomarsino is set to direct episodes of season 1. Lijah Barasz will serve as series writer/script coordinator.

Various directors work different episodes during the season. In television shows composed of individual episodes, the television director's role differs from that of a film director in that he or she may work only on some television episodes as opposed to the director of an entire film production. In episodic television productions, the major creative control resides with a producer of the show. The television producer with creative control is called the showrunner (in this case, I. Marlene King).
